AEN LIVE Technology Now Available in New Markets

Miami Herald AEN Page In one of the most expansive roll-outs to date, the technology underlying America's Emergency Network is now being offered in markets outside of government communications under the brand AEN LIVE.

"We can leverage AEN's satellite and terrestrial network to bring new video transmission capabilities to many other markets," said AEN's president and CEO, Bryan Norcross. "Any location where regular, but infrequent, broadcast events occur - meaning construction of traditional broadcast transmission facilities is cost prohibitive - can benefit from our technology."

"News bureaus, speeches and briefings, media video backhauls, churches, and small-college and high-school sports are some of the new markets that we will target with AEN LIVE", said Janis Farnham, AEN's VP of Sales and Marketing.

Some expanded examples of specific applications for AEN LIVE are:

  • Remote news bureaus that occasionally need live video capabilities - at the state capital for example
  • Convention centers or other locations where prominent speakers appear or important briefings are held
  • Remote locations where a low-delay video backhaul is needed for live broadcasts
  • Churches that want to send a broadcast resolution feed to remote locations and to TV outlets
  • Stadiums and arenas at small colleges and high schools where traditional video transmission systems are too costly to allow live broadcasts

The AEN system is "always on", so video can be sent at any time, without ordering satellite time. There are no computers to boot up or systems to load. Simply insert a key (for security), flip the switch, and the video transmission will begin.
