WINNER! Hillsborough County, Florida Wins Use of AEN’s SB 1000 TER Stream Broadcasting System
During the Florida Governor’s Hurricane Conference last month, AEN drew a business card selecting from the hundreds of visitors who came to see us at our booth. The lucky winner was from Hillsborough County (the Tampa area). A new SB 1000 TER Stream Broadcasting System is being installed in their emergency operations center. Hillsborough will now join the network of agencies, counties, and municipalities in Florida that distribute live video of their announcements and news briefings through America’s Emergency Network, and on to the rest of the world. Congratulations Hillsborough County, Florida!

AEN Participates in Florida’s Annual Hurricane Exercise
The Florida Division of Emergency Management in Tallahassee conducted its annual hurricane exercise from May 28 through June 3, 2009.
AEN was proud to participate in this important test of the emergency operations and response systems throughout Florida. Each day during the exercise, the FDEM held live briefings about a mock hurricane (a modern replay of the Great Miami Hurricane of 1926) from the operations center in Tallahassee. AEN broadcast these briefings live on the Miami Herald’s website so Florida residents could watch and understand how the state will conduct emergency proceedings during a major weather event.
Norcross Featured as a Living Legend In Miami Monthly Magazine
Miami Monthly Magazine, “providing its readers comprehensive insight into the local politics, business and lifestyle of the community,” has placed AEN’s President and CEO, Bryan Norcross, on its list of “Living Legends”.
“To [Bryan] and all those featured on these pages, we owe a debt of gratitude.” As all Miami residents know, as well as many more people around the country and the world, Mr. Norcross literally talked South Florida through Hurricane Andrew in 1992. His dedication to keep South Florida safe before, during, and after that fierce storm made him a hero to many, and earned him a place as one of Miami’s most influential and important residents.
